Women need to be more Attentive to their Personal Safety

Have you ever stopped and wondered why so many women have been assaulted or became a victim of sexual abuse?  How did these women find themselves in these situations?  Did they have any chance of getting out prior to it escalating to the extreme?  Or were these women  weak physically, mentally and unprepared that they didn't have a chance from the start?  The answer is all. Some women fall victim to boyfriends, spouses who are abusive and don't or can't get out of the relationship.  I believe partly because of fright and the abuser threatening to kill them or a loved one if they should try to leave.  Others fall victim due to lack of preparation, being in the wrong place at the wrong time, maybe getting drunk and later sexually assaulted by no other than their peers that they know. 

Do you yourself believe that maybe there is a possibility that someday this kind of horrific crime can happen to you or a loved one? Or are you one of the people who believe this kind of thing won't happen to me..... 

I certainly hope that all women out there take this topic very seriously.  Just ask those who have been there done that.    If they were one of the lucky ones who survived, they may not have been an advocate of carrying weapons then, but I believe they will have changed their minds now.

We know this isn't something that people like to think about, we all tend to ignore it actually.  It's frightening to think that you yourself can possibly end up a rape victim or in a sexually, mentally or physically abusive relationship, or even murdered, but these crimes happen, everyday, everywhere in the USA. 

As a retailer and firm believer of Self Defense Weapons, I have approached young woman, college aged and asked them if they were carrying any weaponry, I also offered my business card. 

The response was overwhelming.....No I don't need that product. 

Are you kidding me?  Do you really believe that nothing will happen to you ever?  Are you that ignorant to what's going on around you?  You are a college student and whether or not you are living in a dorm you should be concerned about your personal safety both on and off the college campus....

One in every Five women in college will become a victim of a sexual crime. 

So I ask.....what can we as women do to help make our personal security better?  Can we take measures to improve on ourselves?  The obvious answer is yes.....

For some, taking martial arts classes would be an option, for others it's not feasible due to physical capability.  That's OK as martial arts isn't the cure all, it's a great tool and if used properly can certainly help you in a bad situation.  You don't have to be a martial arts expert to utilize some of the skills that are taught, knowing a few good techniques can dramatically increase your chances of survival success.  If this method is something you may consider I suggest you do so as soon as possible.  Don't wait, get going now.
