Great news for those of you who live in the state of North Dakota!  Stun Guns will now be legal to carry as Self Defense Weapons.

The North Dakota legislature just overwhelmingly approved a measure that would allow you to legally carry a stun gun for defensive purposes.

Valley News Team's Hope Hanselman looked into what that means for you.

"I always tell my daughter, your only goal if you're attacked is to survive and how you survive is entirely up to you," Pat Claus, Fargo Police Lieutenant, said.

When law enforcement is giving you fatherly advice, you know to take self-defense seriously.
"Because if you survive," Claus said, "you won. That's the goal."

But if that means administering an electric shock, you could be taking the North Dakota legislature's advice.

Representatives voted to remove stun guns from the state's list of dangerous weapons you need a permit to carry.

"It's still, by definition, a dangerous weapon. It's been exempted for concealed carry," Claus said.
Although, you don't need a permit to buy one.

But, thousands of volts of electric shock running through your body can do some serious damage.
So, if you're going to carry one on you make sure you know how it works, you can get to it easily and you can use it under pressure.

"Used in the right circumstances it's a lifesaver, used in the wrong circumstances or for the wrong reasons or purpose it's a device that will cause people pain and is a crime," Claus said.

Before the bill becomes law, it's going to need the signature of Governor Jack Dalrymple. Then, it would go into effect August 1.

Until then, you must have a concealed weapons permit for it.

This is a huge step for self defense weapons and hopefully many other states with restrictions will follow suit.

It's No laughing Matter, purchase a Self Defense Weapon today!

We know that we keep preaching to you about your safety; however it's not without exceptional reasoning as we want you to be aware and take the necessary steps in your personal protection. Taking your personal safety seriously is of utmost importance to us at KLDefense.com. After all that's why we are in this business, to help you protect you as you are the only one that can do this for you. No one can or will be there to protect you around the clock. It's your own personal responsibility to take control, learn more about what you can do to protect yourself, then take action by purchasing a self defense weapon

In my earlier writings I spoke of the horrible attack that I personally experienced. It’s because of that mishap that I truly believe in the products I offer. It’s also the main reason I started this business, so I can help you help yourself make it through an attack with the least harm. We are very fortunate with today's standards that these defense tools are available for our personal protection use unlike years ago when it was nearly impossible to find these tools never mind buy them.

Pepper sprays, stun guns and the like just weren't available to the general public. So with that being said why wouldn't you want to have a protection device with you? Not sure I understand why anyone would choose not to carry a weapon when for less than $10 you can have at least a pepper spray on your key chain. I carry a self defense weapon with me at all times and so should you. Don't push your personal protection aside, crime is everywhere and you most certainly can become the next target. Spending a little can save you big in the long run.

Physically fighting on the street of New York wasn’t exactly my idea of a good time and believe me having an attacker come at you with no self defense weapon preparation on your part can be fatal. If you are someone who has a different idea other than self defense weapons we offer, that's alright too, just make sure you are carrying whatever it is that makes you comfortable.

Remember! A pocket full of change, an umbrella, and keys tightly held between your fingers, high heels, pens, all of these items can all be used effectively to defend against an attacker. It's not just about buying self defense weapons, it's about having a personal protection device with you so you can help defend yourself if the situation should arise. Whether you choose to purchase self defense weapons or not, always keep in mind that items you may be carrying normally can also prevent you from serious harm.
